SERVE DAY

SERVE DAY — SATURDAY, October 5, 2024

What is Serve Day?

Serve Day is a day where hundreds of churches across our country flood their cities with the love of Jesus through various acts of service. Locally, it’s a partnership of a number of Fredericksburg area churches coming together for the common cause of being a blessing to our city in particularly special ways.

Serve Day intentionally involves a variety of different projects so that there’s an opportunity for every person to find something that they can contribute to making this day impactful to our city.

When/WHERE is Serve Day?

We’re meeting at 8am at 810 Westwood Office Park right off Rt 3/Plank Rd on Saturday, OCTOBER 5th for our start-of-the-day rally. With free coffee and donuts, you won’t want to miss that! After we’ve coordinated all of our teams and resources, we’ll send everyone off to their different projects, scattered around the city.

Lunch will be provided for free at the various worksites.

We will be sending everyone home by 3pm at the latest, depending on the length of the projects.

WHAT PROJECTS ARE WE DOING?

Choices Women’s Center — assembling self-care kits, writing notes to birth moms, and a deep clean of their facilities

516 Project — mowing lawns, yard work, and some deck repair

Hugh Mercer Elementary School — weeding and mulching a flower bed around their sign, sprucing up their outdoor spaces, and installing a lost and found cubby outside

Zoe Freedom Center — Cleaning the inside of their house as well as doing yard work outside of it
